Anita Novey, LPC

Anita Novey, LPC, believes the human spirit is more powerful than any drug and that it deserves careful nurturing. For three decades she found meaning supporting people through addiction, grief, and relationship challenges while employed by the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

Beginning in 1998, she served as a Drug Treatment Specialist, working primarily with adult male offenders who had substance use disorders. Prior to that role she spent seven years in human resources and unit management. She left federal employment due to mandatory retirement but carries forward the practical experience she gained in correctional treatment settings.

Her clinical work emphasized a cognitive-behavioral approach to addiction, while also addressing grief, loss, and a range of relationship concerns. She has a strong interest in helping people reconnect with their potential, supporting clients as they rebuild their lives and take control of next steps. Anita combines structured addiction-focused methods with attentive listening and collaborative planning.

Anita holds a Master of Arts in Personnel and Organizational Psychology from the University of Central Oklahoma (1992) and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Central State University, Edmond, Oklahoma (1988). She practices as an LPC - Licensed Professional Counselor - in Oklahoma and brings years of hands-on experience to her therapeutic work.
