About Debbie

Debbie Harris is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and co-owner of New Creation Counseling Center who brings more than 25 years of clinical experience to her practice. She felt called to counseling early in life while working at a Christian sports camp, and she pursued that calling through formal education in psychology and counseling. Debbie earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology and Counseling from Southwest Baptist University and completed a master’s degree in Community Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy at John Brown University. In 2001 she co-founded New Creation Counseling Center, an agency that provided services to abused children and families across Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Missouri and partnered closely with children’s advocacy organizations to support healing and recovery.

Over the years Debbie has developed extensive experience treating trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and a range of other disorders. She expanded her skill set with a certification in Equine Therapy from OK Corral in 2012 and, beginning in 2021, began providing special needs testing and therapy services within a local school system. Her current work includes supporting young women who have experienced sex trafficking, as well as families and individuals coping with stress, relationship challenges, grief, addiction, parenting concerns, and life transitions. Debbie describes her work as a ministry of service and remains committed to helping individuals and families find hope and practical tools for healing.

Evidence-Based Approaches and Online Support

Debbie Harris draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy to guide her online work. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors, making it useful for anxiety, depression, trauma-related symptoms, and stress. Solution-Focused Therapy centers on building practical strategies and short-term goals, helping clients make forward progress on relationship, parenting, or life-transition concerns.

Choosing the right approach is part of the therapeutic process. Debbie collaborates with each person to assess needs, preferences, and goals, then tailors interventions that fit the client’s situation. This collaborative process helps determine whether CBT, solution-focused techniques, or a blend of methods will best support the client’s objectives.

Online sessions offer practical flexibility - video calls, phone sessions, live chat, and text-based messaging allow access from home, work, or while traveling. These options make it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule, support continuity of care when life changes arise, and provide multiple ways to communicate with a licensed professional depending on comfort and need.
